Welcome to the March issue of In.Design and the beginning of spring. The good news is that economic experts are predicting that the recession is over – hopefully we’ll start to see signs of this in the industry very soon. This month, Kate Kingston takes part in My Top 10. One of today’s most respected design gurus, Kate graduated from the Inchbald School of Interior Design and now runs her own design practice Kingston Shaw in Liverpool. She also loves shopping and has launched Shaw’s Signature Shopping Service to save her clients time, energy and money when sourcing interior items.
In case you haven’t heard, In.Design Magazine moved to new offices during the Christmas break. We’ve dedicated a page to lighting and technical consultant Michael Kerton, so that he can tell us about his work at The Goods Shed in Faversham – In.Design’s home.
It’s going to be a busy few months for trade exhibitions. We take a look at The Hotel Summit, Kbb Birmingham and Saloni and highlight what not to miss if you’re planning on visiting.
It’s been a while since we focused on flooring. Danish company Dinesen has worked on high profile projects including castles and The Saatchi Gallery. This month the company tells us why the Kryger family chose Dinesen – for our in.focus on flooring.
Meanwhile, our Q&A on shop design and fit features interior designer Francesca Avossa. She has re-designed Ligne Roset Westend and our feature shows that a refurbishment can make a huge difference to the high street.
Of course there’s all the usual news, books and details of what’s on. Have you had a chance to check out www.indesignmagazine.co.uk yet? We’re also tweeting; follow me at www.twitter.com/InDesignOnline
